💡Our U16’s loved playing 🏀🎾 at the start of practice last night! ❓Hitter must pass with a bounce before crossing the gate, receiver has to avoid a double bounce. Must be a one hand pass. 1️⃣5️⃣ Play with tennis scores. Win a game and play someone else. Loads shown in 🎥

I frequently get asked why I don’t do 1-on-0 dribbling activities, including two ball dribbling, as well as why I don’t teach specific dribble moves such as cross-jabs, dribble counters etc. The reason is due to the fact that none of these practice activities align with...

📍Bologna, Italy (@jrnba) 🇮🇹 🏀 3v2. Used the same advantage start 1v1 and added extra loads. 🗣Emphasis on making connections within the split, kick, extra.

🏀 1v1 Adv - Pass & Cut ▪️Used a popular 1v1 advantage start (behind back), but started the action with the pass. ▪️Players had to 'connect' before cueing the pass and cut. Cut takes place either side of the defender. ❓Coaches - how would you load this? Share your ideas ⬇️

🏀 2v2, 3v3 w/ Hip Turn Start. Trieste U18. ☑️ Offense has small adv. Emphasis on using the hip turn in a recovery situation, attempting to complete a 'long' or 'short cut-off.' ☑️ Started 1v1 & loaded-up. PoE = defender reading recovery def’s position. Do I need to stay or help?

For those that liked the 1v1 Cat & Mouse, here is how you can use the same start for 2v2. An analogy I like for younger players is “keep the runway clear for take-off.” Driver is the ✈️. 💡sparked after talking with @coachcookson.

📍Kaunas, Lithuania (U11) 🇱🇹 🏀“Follow the Arc 1v1” 🧭Emphasis on changing speed & going from east-west to north-south using the hip turn/ split. ▫️Live as soon as the lead player steps inside the arc, which could be early or late. @HannoMottola @AdriCarri8

👉 Two Ball 1-on-1 💡Rather than using a list of techniques, within my player development I create varied situations for solutions to emerge 🏀 This example provides affordances for players to finish off cuts and pass & catch on the run. It naturally promotes deceptive behaviors

💡3-on-2 Bursts 👉 7 seconds for offense to find a high value shot. Defense rotate in shifts, rotate after 1 minute. 🏀 Promotes 0 seconds decisions, 1 can’t guard 2 and floor is lava.

📍Athens, Greece 🇬🇷 🏀 1v1, 2v2. Float dribble start, pass to the cutter. ▪️Great for developing the ability to pass with one hand off the dribble or around a defender. ▪️Builds concept of passing into space w/ a moving target. Load to 2v2 with second defender at the nail.

Tag is one of the best ways to improve dribbling, warm-up and start practice on a fun note. This is obstacle team tag, ⏰ stops when last player gets tagged. Great for beginners and pros, and everyone in-between. Read on for more from today’s camp with Joliet Academy in Chicago…

🏀 2v1 “Chaos” Start 2️⃣ Form two side from imperfect spacing as soon as ball is driven on WS. Players must connect instantly. ▪️Take 2 defender moves on the pass. In last clip start much higher to make pass harder (one hand / no look etc), then get out to space for 2nd shot.

Can mix in @BBallImmersion’s perceptual lay-ups to multiple scenarios, especially shooting drills involving two shots. Today we did some on-air shooting off the DHO as part of warm-up. After the one hand hook pass, second passer gives the guided read for the decision at the rim.

🏀 “Burst” Closeouts ⏰ Stay for 40 seconds. Defense works in shifts & can leave the paint on the pass release. 📍Change location every rep. Can play corners too but today we used 1-2 step-in so stayed above FT 🧵Read on for thread on close-outs & player dev...
