So, to the question above: every validator will execute 1,000,000 tx every second? Or only a single sequencer operator will execute these transactions, while the validators will verify the proofs generated by the single sequencer?

The person being questioned was me, and I would like to clarify several points here. The first question (naturally): If we had an L1 with all the luxuries of decentralization, censorship resistance, speed, and cheap transactions. why would we need rollups? To me, alignment

Stoked, I’d get to fly on one of these again on my way to Argentina, built to carry the Space Shuttle in the 70s. Shoutout to Lufthansa for still operating the legendary 747. Built to last, even presidents still use it to fly around.

Based rollups need preconfs to make them fast and more affordable. The Ethereum block time isn’t hitting sub‑second anytime soon and we can’t get to thousands of TPS in the short term. Need gateways to get to superfast rollups pragmatically.

Most people are perhaps missing the point here. We’ll have to change mindsets. Future rollups are abstracted away from users, no one will pick which L2 they are navigating. Appchains are Layer 2s that users interact with for millions of transactions per second at lower fees.
