    #EatonFire Mt. Wilson Update Mt. Wilson, known for its stellar views of the night sky and scenic backcountry trails, has landed a spot in many of the surrounding communities’ hearts. Fire personnel continue to keep their focus on protecting and defending this historic area.

    The #BobcatFire is within 500 ft of the Mt. Wilson Observatory & crews are in place ready to receive the fire. Strategic firing is taking place in the south where air operations are strengthening dozerlines. Crews are working a spot fire that crossed Hwy 2 near Buckhorn.

    #BobcatFire During night operations, aircraft supported ground resources around Mt. Wilson, as it continued to flare up. Crews were successful in defending Mt. Wilson.

    #BobcatFire at @MtWilsonObs right now, fire is still impacting Mt. Wilson. It is almost out of the critical section. Crews and engines are on-scene to defend infrastructure. Additionally, there is some strategic burning being used to expand containment lines.

    This morning the #BobcatFire is at 60,557 acres and containment has increased to 15%. Mt. Wilson is still safe and we will continue to focus on the north end of the fire. #LACoFDPIO

    Strategic firing operations are taking place to protect the infrastructure around Mt. Wilson. The firing operation is going as planned. Firefighters are taking advantage of favorable weather conditions. Crews and equipment will be staffing the #Bobcatfire throughout the evening.

    |Update| #RouteFire Per the Incident Commander, we are making good progress on the fire due to an aggressive aerial and ground attack. Overnight, two helicopters from @LACoFDPIO and one from #AngelesNF will be making drops throughout the evening.

    #BobcatFire containment more than doubled to 38%, thanks to days of strenuous fireline construction by firefighters working in challenging conditions. Night crews completed critical strategic firing to link containment line from Mt Wilson to HWY 2. go.usa.gov/xGkmW @LACoFD
