I think it follows that if production of something drops, it can be said the supply of it has slowed. I'm writing for a lay, nontechnical audience and this is the best word to describe what's is happening
By that logic we shouldn't talk about the supply of anything that isn't created, such as gold or oil. The supply refers to the process of "mining" the thing, not the creation of it. Bitcoin miners have been preparing for the halving for months bc the daily supply is dropping
