In 2025, #CBSA protected communities, intercepted threats and disrupted criminal networks. We're strengthening the border. 2026 so far: over 17,500 kg drugs, 180 firearms, 3,790 weapons seized and 400 inadmissible people removed from Canada weekly.

One year ago, the federal government set out a plan with clear priorities: bring down costs, build one Canadian economy, protect our sovereignty, and strengthen partnerships with reliable partners. We’re making progress and staying focused on delivering for Canadians.

CBSA trade remedies only work when they’re respected. If you suspect attempts to avoid SIMA duties, like routing goods through third countries or mis-declaring them, you can report it to the CBSA’s Border Watch Line. Learn more: cbsa-asfc.gc.ca/sima-lmsi/unfa…

Today on #NIPD2026, we honour the rich histories, cultures, languages, and contributions of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis across Canada. It’s a day to learn, listen and reflect on how we can continue reconciliation together.
An image featuring intertwined symbols representing First Nations, Inuit and Métis: a feather, a narwhal and a fiddle. They appear in white against a vibrant gradient background evoking the warm light of the longest day of the year. Surrounding these central symbols are decorative elements illustrating other aspects of First Nations, Inuit and Métis cultures.

Being a Canadian citizen won’t protect you from severe penalties abroad if caught smuggling drugs, including cannabis. What is legal in one country, may be illegal in another. You could face serious criminal charges and penalties.
