- They don’t like college football. They like helmets. Will Compton tweeted something similar. These are not the people who should be faces of the sport’s media.Would anybody be opposed to a playoff of Texas Tech, Notre Dame and 10 Big Ten/SEC teams? Or we could just keep pretending the G5 and ACC deserve a guaranteed spot.
- Alabama lost to a 5-6 Oklahoma team TWO WEEKS AGO. Alabama lost to VANDERBILT. SMU has two losses by a combined SEVEN points to teams with a combined 20-5 record. What are we doing here? This isn’t a real debate. We know the 12 teams. The conversation is about seeds 3-12.
- The State College Regional airport is full and that diverted a bunch of private jets from SMU to Williamsport. A few billion dollars are in a 32-person bus to Penn State and will miss the first quarter.
- Texas is the only SEC team standing in Year 1 in conference. Texas A&M won 11 games in first year in the SEC. Mizzou won 12 games in Year 2 and 11 in Year 3 as SEC members. It’s all propaganda.
- Please give me the semifinal at AT&T between SMU and Texas. I ask for so little.
- Texas, Baylor and Texas A&M walk into a bar. Everyone else laughs.
- The SEC hubris is so wild to me. Texas A&M walked in and won 11 games. Mizzou won 10+ in Year 2 and 3. Texas waltzed in and went straight to championship game. A bad OU team beat Bama in Year 1. Sure, it’s the deepest league. But let’s come back to reality here.
- D'Eriq King is a trailblazer. He signed the first NIL deal in college football. He took advantage of the four-game redshirt rule and the transfer portal. And now, he's the only Black QB coach at the FBS level in Texas. @SMUFB @Deriqking__
