Being at the con gives you a taste of topics (see which interest you) and which are popular. Then, write down topics, buy books, go home and study.

The Microsoft internal name for that is "crapware". MSFT does not like crapware, it makes PCs suck compared to Macs in that regard. But they can't get rid of it either, because the crapware provides a LOT of profit margin for PC hardware vendors.
Divide the price of the thing being offered by the value of the component parts. If you get a divide-by-zero error, it is a Ponzi scheme.
