Tbh mainstream R&B has had a bunch of missteps over the last… decade and a half maybe
- excessive cursing
- bad storytelling/ lazy songwriting
- completely abandoning R&B veterans
- rappers on every remix or single
- lack of bridges
- no more fat or dark skinned stars
R&B took its biggest hit when people started singing words like “p*ssy”.
