Mets and Yankees and Nationals should be home every year on 9/11. Not sure why it’s so difficult for MLB to figure that out

MLB choosing to make every Mets-Phillies game either 4 PM or 5 PM, while giving Yankees-Royals a prime time game every night is certainly a choice

This hurts, but it’s not like 2015 or 2006 The 2024 Mets were important. They fought like hell. They brought the fanbase together. They will always have a special place in franchise history And the future is impossibly bright. These Mets will be back with a vengeance

Francisco Lindor has a 27-game on-base streak He is on pace to finish season with 34 homers, 42 doubles, 110 runs scored, and 96 RBI He is the best defensive shortstop in baseball He plays literally every game He leads the NL in fWAR He should be the MVP over Shohei Ohtani

Mets and Braves are really both gonna finish 101-61 in the first year where a first place tie atop the division won’t be decided by a 1-game playoff

Mets are 7-3, which is incredibly impressive when you consider they’re doing it without: *Their starting catcher *Their starting second baseman *40 percent of their starting rotation *One of their best relievers Álvarez, McNeil, and Nuñez should all be back pretty soon

Mets just took season series from Yankees They did it tonight in a game they played after getting home at 5 AM due to flight issue They did it despite struggling mightily w/ RISP They did it with Jake Diekman — against Soto & Judge — closing instead of Edwin Diaz What a win

According to GARE, the last time the Mets lost back-to-back season openers was 1999 and 2000 1999: Mets went to NLCS 2000: Mets went to World Series 2024: Mets went to NLCS 2025: ???

The Juan Soto discourse today is some of the dumbest New York sports discourse I’ve ever seen Soto’s OPS this month is .964 His career OPS is .947 He has hit 5 homers in May Sure, he didn’t look great against the Yankees. He still reached base 5 times in 14 plate appearances

Should a DH win the MVP award if there’s a position player who’s more valuable? Nope

I can’t remember the last time Citi Field was this packed for any weeknight regular season game that wasn’t against the Yankees — let alone one in April — the way it’s packed tonight

As the rest of the league was emptying their farm systems for rental players, the Mets got: Jesse Winker Paul Blackburn Huascar Brazoban Ryne Stanek Phil Maton Without giving up a single top 20 prospect

Jarred Kelenic is slashing .111/.200/.222 in his first 19 games with the Mariners Since his performance would’ve been shoved down the Mets’ throat had it been good, seems only fair to note the above
