Wanted to be the boss of all init systems, ended up as an office suite: systemd-resolved, systemd-oomd, systemd-logind, systemd-sysusers, systemd-homed and more mess in logs, tmp files, mounted volumes and soon boot loader! Egomaniac, or simply deaf?

Welcome XLibre! "This fork was necessary since toxic elements within Xorg projects, moles from BigTech, are boycotting any substantial work on Xorg, in order to destroy the project, to eliminate competition of their own products. Classic embrace, extend, extinguish tactics."

    systemd-tmpfiles, deleting /home "systemd-tmpfiles --purge" will delete /home in systemd 256 tested with systemd-tmpfiles --dry-run --purge on @debian
Dude tagged with command "systemd-tmpfiles --purge" cheering on a grave stating "/home". Joke about the fact that the systemd-tmpfiles utility may delete a user's home.

With a total of 73 CVEs up to now, the spectre haunting most GNU/Linux installations around the world is a perfect fit for our Halloween festivities. Hope your day doesn't "suck" like a resource vampire! 🦇

Devuan is not affected by the latest vulnerability caused by systemd. The malicious backdoor in xz/liblzma is a vector for remote exploitation of the ssh daemon due to a dependency on systemd for notifications and due to systemd's call to dlopen() liblzma library (CVE-2024-3094)

We have (almost) No Code of Conduct dev1galaxy.org/viewtopic.php?… Devuan welcomes everyone looking for a stable Debian. We don't care about ideologies and groups of people. We care about stability and security of our OS. New developers are welcome to help with the next stable release.

In the light of @debian's decision to abandon their community on @X, @DevuanOrg can you make a statement assuring the community that you welcome everyone and will not pander to specific ideologies and groups of people. Many are now looking for a viable alternative.

XLibre shows once again what is happening to the GNU/Linux community and why forks are made necessary by the corporate land-grab of community developments. And they just removed libsystemd-dev dependencies. We will support this effort as much as possible!

Some developers have a strange look when they want to convince us that their software is better, for instance, at managing domain name resolution on servers 😂

systemd caused a worldwide outage of @datadoghq and mobilised an incident response team of 10 senior engineering leaders, about 70 local incident commanders and a pool of 450 to 750 incident responders datadoghq.com/ja/blog/2023-0…

Did you know the second #Debian leader after Ian Murdock, @BrucePerens, prefers to run Devuan? In an appearance in Slashdot, he said that our distro is engineered how he would have decided to make it & that it is efficient and trouble-free.

After 9 years of shovelling systemd's unicorn crap, we at the Devuan project need new shovels and extra hands to help with the load. Donate now and participate in the crusade against systemd's mythical manure! #NoUnicornCrap #DonateToDevuan devuan.org/donate 🤓
