It was an honor to host Prince William at #FDNY Ten House today. We engaged in a discussion about how mental health plays a big role in the overall health of our members and how the FDNY changed its approach to mental health counseling after 9/11.

Praying for the first responders who are conducting a brave search and rescue effort in the Potomac River. Condolences to the families of the victims affected by this horrible tragedy.

We had two fatalities at a 3-alarm fire in the Bronx Wednesday morning. Our thoughts are with those affected by this fire and we are grateful to our partners in the @redcrossny and @nycemergencymgt for assisting displaced residents.   For the second time in three days, FDNY

The FDNY’s Rescue Companies are known globally for their elite responses to fires and emergencies. I stopped by Rescue 2 in Brooklyn Thursday afternoon to meet the members, tour the firehouse, and talk shop. Thank you for the hospitality!

Ladder 8, an iconic landmark for Ghostbuster buffs, has been transformed to mimic the movie release of #Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire. When the public comes out to show love for the @FDNY & the Ghostbusters, we’ll be teaching fire safety, CPR, and other lifesaving skills.

We had a fantastic learning experience with @Tesla Tuesday. Representatives visited the Fire Academy for a hands-on training event that taught our first responders more about lithium- ion batteries and energy storage systems.

Merry Christmas and Happy Hanukkah! The @FDNY never takes a day off. Our dedicated members are working across the five boroughs to keep New Yorkers safe. Firefighters and EMTs spent time away from their loved ones this holiday to protect our city during the holidays. Thank

Early Sunday, our members responded to a deadly fire on 5th Avenue and 80th Street in Brooklyn. When they arrived, two cars were blocking the two closest fire hydrants to the fire building—slowing down our response to a fire that tragically turned fatal.   Seconds count in an

In regards to the partial building collapse at 1915 Billingsley Terrace, the @FDNY is focused on life. We have no report of injuries at this time but our members, including our K-9 team, are looking for any people trapped.

Over the last week, I have learned so much about Patrick Brady. Not only was he an exceptional member of our Department, he was a family man, a wonderful friend and someone who brought laughter and happiness wherever he went. Pat was a legendary member of the Rockaway community,

Since marking the 22nd anniversary of the WTC attacks earlier this month we have experienced the loss of 2 more FDNY members due to WTC illnesses, our 342 and 343 deaths. With these deaths, we have now suffered the same number of deaths post Sept. 11th as we experienced that day.

It is heartbreaking to add 43 more names to the #FDNY WTC Memorial Wall. These heroes became ill as they returned day after day searching for survivors, buried in the rubble of 9/11. We will never forget them. To those loved ones left behind, we are here for you today and always.

Miraculously, no one was severely injured at the partial building collapse at 1915 Billingsley Terrace. From looking at the scene and surveillance footage, it could have been so much worse. We waited anxiously as @FDNY members methodically went through the debris pile.

There isn’t a day that goes by where Sept 11 is not in the thoughts of all our members. The Department lost so much 22 years ago. 343 members were a part of the FDNY fabric of family, friendship, and leadership. We miss them. Our hearts are forever with the families of the fallen
