00:00 - Need to call this out. Memphis W Soccer went 16-0-3 during the regular season with wins over Vandy (a current #1 seed) & Tennessee (a current #3 seed). They finished the year ranked #3 *in the country* & end up with a 7-seed in the NCAA Tournament. Shameful.Breaking: Memphis women’s soccer earns a 7-seed in the NCAA tournament. The Tigers will host Illinois in the first round. No. 2 TCU is a potential second round matchup.

00:18 - In 2013, I de-committed from an FCS school and committed to Memphis. I was told by a coach from that FCS school that I’d “never play in front of more than 2,000 people”. He was wrong…and the coaching talent I was around played a huge role in that. Pretty amazing looking back.✍️ My first trip for The Athletic was to Memphis in 2017. On that staff, I met: Mike Norvell Dan Lanning Kenny Dillingham Ryan Silverfield All now head coaches of top-25 teams. So I reconnected with them to look back.
