A local baseball coach says he fended off ICE agents talking to kids during a recent practice in Riverside Park. "I was just focused on how can I get these kids to where they need to go, when they are in my care."

NYC moment of the day: Just had an 83-year-old tell me in an interview that she and her seven friends are chipping in on a salami from Katz's Delicatessen to give to the volunteer that helped them all sign up for vaccine appointments. NYC is unkillable.

Bit of an odd ongoing situation on the Upper West Side. People keep emailing in that a popular bar has been defaced with anti-semitic graffiti, but the business has repeatedly clarified it's just their own Halloween decorations.

Somebody is waging war against the Riverside Park pickelball courts at W. 110th Street. Cutting up the nets, putting it in trash bags, dismantling the equipment and then scattering it randomly throughout the park. A vandal struck the courts 3 times in the past 7 days.

Just bumped into Al Franken coming out of an UWS polling site, who said he voted for Mamdani. “I voted for Mamdani. I like him. He was the first to jump on affordability and the rest of the country kind of followed him. This city needs to get more affordable for people.”

For the first time, the American Museum of Natural History will serve as an Early Voting site. You'll get to vote in the new Richard Gilder Center and also get a custom I Voted early sticker. The museum stepped up after an UWS school voiced concerns about serving as site.

“Then they (the agents) started to talk about cuffing me, and that if the kids were here legally, what do they have to lose by answering. I told them that they still have their fifth and fourth amendment rights, and that they don’t have to speak to you” - the coach

The 7 train not running from Manhattan to Queens the first weekend of US Open events is preposterous.

Accidentally took a haunting but still beautiful photo of Richard Kind on the Upper West Side for a vacant storefront story.
