BL is niche, it's more popular than ever but it still is niche. Like a big fish in the ocean. No JPN studio is going to make the 'Chainsaw Man' of BL, the risk is too high bc the money isn't there for it. SK's Mignon currently is the best we're going to get. (God Bless It)

Exactly, AO3 is literally all we have in regards to protecting artistic expression. No matter how much you hate the works thats posted there. It is an non profit archive. Its not perfect but it's all that stands btwn corpos and artists. You post your work, AO3 will defend it.

It's incredibly frustrating bc like the very reason for the creation of AO3 was to be able to post whatever work a writer wanted without the webhost, governing body, studio, etc coming in and pulling the plug. People (especially the youth) forget about the LJ strikethroughs.

I think we all took AO3 for granted fr, we thought that it was safe and well funded to stand against those that would try to take it down, We presumed the Board was properly vetted and we're now just seeing the issues with that process and the gravity at what's at stake.
