    Hey! Lately I've been seeing more posts going around with language that implies that voice acting is an "easy and lucrative job one can do from home and be their own boss" & similar things, so I just wanted to provide some perspective as a full-time working voice actor! (thread)

    The reason that losing legacy checkmarks will be a disaster has nothing to do with ego or wanting to feel “important”. It is because I - and friends/colleagues - have literally had people make fake accounts pretending to be us and saying inappropriate things. 🧵⬇️

    I’ve noticed tons of the “since the pandemic, here’s what I’ve accomplished” tweets going around, and while I’m SO proud of everyone having achieved their goals, I want to stress that it’s also okay if you *haven’t*. These past two years have been difficult for a lot of people.

    Billy was an incredibly talented actor, but the reason I looked up to him had very little to do with his skills as a performer. The thing that always struck me about Billy was that he was such a light to everyone in his path. He always had the biggest smile. It’s not fair.

    “If the pay is so bad compared to everything else, why do actors still want to work on anime?” Many of us are genuinely passionate about the medium and enjoy the work. Anime also served as a motivation / inspiration for quite a few actors to get into the field. We WANT to do it.
