He joined the Japan-Ukraine-Poland Economic Forum. Furthermore, he exchanged views with Germany and the United Kingdom on strengthening cooperation in support of Ukraine’s reconstruction.
State Minister Yamada visited Ukraine on June 23. He held talks with Prime Minister Yuliia Svyrydenko and Deputy Prime Minister Taras Kachika on future reconstruction support.
He launched an intergovernmental cooperation framework with Minister of Economy, Environment and Agriculture Sobolev & Acting Minister of Digital Transformation Bornyakov, to encourage Japanese companies’ participation in reconstruction and to collaborate in the digital field.
Mr. Yamada also visited the Kyiv Pechersk Lavra (Monastery of the Caves), a UNESCO World Heritage site damaged by recent Russian attacks, and laid flowers in honor of those lost since the start of the invasion.
#meti_minister Akazawa met with IAEA Director General Rafael Mariano Grossi and signed a memorandum of cooperation on support for countries considering the deployment of SMRs and advanced nuclear technologies.
He spoke about the decommissioning of TEPCO’s Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station (FDNPS), including the discharge of ALPS treated water into the sea, and the strengthening of the safeguards system ahead of the start of operations at the Rokkasho Reprocessing Plant.

On June 24, State Minister Ino attended the events and reception for the Team Canada Trade Mission to Japan, held in conjunction with the visit to Japan by the Honourable Maninder Sidhu, Minister of International Trade of Canada.
In his remarks, he emphasized the importance of strengthening economic relations between Japan and Canada and expressed his high expectations for the development of projects carried out through cooperation between companies from both countries.
