a lot of people say seed oils, which may be part of it, but I really wonder if this might coincide with the launch of some plasticizer or coating that disrupt the endocrine system. It would be cool to overlay this with a graph of sales for various industrial chemicals/polymers.

I had a very similar experience with an afghani Uber driver last time I was in SF. He told me unironically that the Taliban was better at helping addicts get off drugs/get back on their feet than the SF government (which sounds plausible).
