A lot pain and sacrifice. Friends murdered, in prison. My parents - who crossed the border from Mexico to give us a better life. My journey is for them. For those who couldn’t make it. I OWE them my absolute best. #Latinx #firstgen #MedTwitter

Want to diversify medicine? Prioritize med school applicants from LOW INCOME zip codes and include those with underrepresented language proficiency (Spanish, Filipino, Thai) Reverse engineering the structure of medicine - which currently favors the wealthy - is NECESSARY

Patient on labor and delivery: “Do you speak Spanish?” Me - “Claro que si!” Patient - “That’s the first time I’ve heard someone speak Spanish in the hospital. This makes me so HAPPY” Best feeling EVER. #RepresentationMatters #Diversity #inclusion #LatinX #MedTwitter
