🐮Exclusive: Emails from FOIA show why surveillance for human bird flu cases has been marred by delays & blind spots. As a result, we can’t answer basic questions – like why cases have more than doubled within a few weeks. My latest @KFFHealthNews 🧵

I hear lots of anxiety about the supposed psychological effects of masks on children. Wondering about the psychological effects of growing up in a household where kids are taught not to give a damn about other people & to throw tantrums when told otherwise.

"Debate me" is not communication. "Debate me" is an invitation for scientists to subject themselves to severe harassment, doxxing & death threats. >32 kids died in Samoa after RFK Jr visited & convinced parents that measles vaccines are dangerous, 2000+ sick.

Peter, if you claim what RFKjr is saying is “misinformation” I am offering you $100,000.00 to the charity of your choice if you’re willing to debate him on my show with no time limit.

Fauci just announced the end of Trump's Gag Rule that defunded NGOs who even discussed abortion with women. This meant closing women's health services, family planning clinics, HIV clinics. Studies found use of birth control DROPPED by 14% & abortion rose by 40% as a result.

Measles reported in Long Island, where a midwife falsified 1,500 vaccination records for children in recent years. She gave kids homeopath "pellets" instead of actual vaccines that would have actually protected them from measles, mumps & other diseases.

"If I die, I die, but I’m not going to be controlled," Meatloaf said last year. And then he died of Covid.

It's funny when people who had mild cases of Covid use their experience to argue against precautions. Can you imagine saying, well, I was in a car accident and it was minor so go ahead, drink & text, drink & drive, whatever.

America ☹️. After the tragedy of last year, 15 states passed or are considering laws to limit the power of public health. New report cites laws to block hospitals from requiring employee vaccinations; to block health depts from mask mandates; & closure of companies w/outbreaks

Florida's excess death rate was *4 times* higher than MA & 3x higher than NY, Aug-Dec 2021. Fascinating paper @JAMA_current on how life expectancy & health in some states is plummeting as state leaders adopt positions that are bad for health. jamanetwork.com/journals/jama/…

I think people need reminders to about DIY contact tracing. If you have symptoms or test positive, text everyone you've hung out with for a few days prior so that they can test & adjust plans. Every hour counts. A contact might be on their way to visit a nursing home, etc.

Thankfully, one of the most incredible scientists & leaders I've ever met directs Nigeria's CDC @NCDCgov as the country confirms its first #COVID19 case. I profiled @Chikwe_I in 2018 because the best defense against pandemics are public health systems. nature.com/articles/d4158…
