how are we scaling the polkadot "L1" (L0??) we're using a novel solution - unique to polkadot (as far as i know!) - and simply move all polkadot features to a polkadot native/enshrined rollup; all polkadot rollups share the same economic security as the relay chain, so this is

polkadot is computation for everyone your mom buys you a new 'puter for christmas. it comes with a bunch of basic software you need. you can use it out of the box to get stuff done and surf the net. it's not just a cpu on a motherboard you have to build and install yourself.

what the JAM TOASTER is, and what it isn't: the TOASTER is a datacenter of (currently) 87 physical servers this is ONLY for running the JAM testnet, which is going to be put through a gauntlet of different scenarios and load tests to discover optimizations, fixes, and ensure

with polkadot light clients, this can't happen because you connect directly to the blockchain no rpc nodes or centralized services going down will be able to affect your ability to trade, because the node lives right on your own device - with the same UX decentralize

honestly this makes cardano look a lot better than it actually is. cardano can't actually run doom, not even close, because it is a utxo ledger and not a compute platform
