I struggled with life for a long time. Ravished with addiction in & out of prison. If you asked me where I would be NYE 2021 I would have said Dead. I hut rock bottom 5 year ago that was the foundation for my new life. My life has completely transformed.

Always been uncomfortable about my scars especially the ones on my back when taking my kids swimming.
Until my wee boy says to me why do you no like going swimming and I says because of my scars, his reply - ‘it just shows people you survived stuff Dad’

You meet a 5yo. His parents have transmitted their trauma on to him through no fault or their own. There is addiction & domestic violence in the home. You feel sorry for the young lad. You want him to be safe.
11 year later you want to lock him up and throw away the key.
Street Valium is this generations Heroin. So many young life's cut short.
Everyone is aware of the risks attached to these pills however the drive to numb themselves is so much greater, with a head that will tell you "it won't happen to you" makes for one outcome.
4 years ago today, 2 people in @GRI_ED done an intervention with me that would change the course of my life.
2017 - Prison, addiction, stabbed,no hope!
2021 - Sober, Father, Employed,Bright future.

5 years ago today I lay in a hospital bed, multiple stab wounds, hopeless in every variety. 1st thought was I’m killing myself when I leave here.
A life saving and life changing intervention took place.
I will always be grateful.

Spoke to a young person today who has been accepted into college and he said to me,
"Callum, I can't believe they want me! Everybody has always wanted rid of me"
Including the excluded ✊🏻
