- We're working on something freaking awesome for #Dart + #Flutter at the moment. @mikediarmid doing some insane stuff which hasn't been done before. Genuinely think it's going to be huge for Flutter devs. Still got some rough edges to work out but it's coming along really well..
- Did you know, when @invertaseio took on the FlutterFire work to overhaul it we'd never written a line of Dart before 😅 Forever grateful for Google trusting us with that responsibility and for the doors it has opened since.
- Switching between JavaScript & Dart when you're working on multiple projects at once is not something you need in the morning. The syntax is painfully close, but just different enough to make you stop and think what you're doing.
- Do I know any top quality graphic designers in my network looking for work? Not particularly around web design, more along the lines of marketing material design
- We're close to introducing a Dart serverside project we've been working on. It'll be restricted access at first whilst we keep an eye on things but I'm super excited to see how it's received. If you/company is using serverside Dart please reach out, I'd love to chat 🙏
- For those building a #Flutter application, what do you use to integrate with asynchronous data sources (HTTP APIs, native APIs etc)? How do you handle caching, loading, errors, re-fetching states? Do you roll a custom solution, or bake it into some other library?
- A few weeks back we released a Pub package "dart_firebase_admin" ✨ we've kept it low key whilst we build it out, but the plan is for it to be as high quality as you'd expect from the "official" admin sdks. We're working through Firestore & Auth at the moment for our own needs,
- Excited for the upcoming @FlutterFireDev Messaging rework 🤓 Fully reworked (backward compatible) permissions API 🙏 LOADS of documentation 📖 background iOS messaging handling support 🔥 App -> Server messages & more #Flutter #firebase #FCM
- Static Metaprogramming in Dart can't come soon enough. Sorry many possibilities are restricted by having to use build runner for code gen. It feels like the days of having clunky JS tooling which was slow and complex to use right now.
- The whole "don't use cross-platform" argument this tweet has generated makes no sense. Use whatever makes works for your business/budget/team/skillset. All approaches have their pros/cons, you just need to weigh up what works best.Your mobile app just got a (well-deserved 😅) upgrade. It’s now: - faster — 2× on iOS, 3× on Android - redesigned using native components - easier to navigate, with a new home tab And we’re just getting started!
GIF - Lots of talk around Dart on the server this past couple of weeks with new solutions being worked on 🤩 We're almost ready for @dart_globe public preview, and will be sharing updates soon. Along with this we'll be engaging on X (formerly Twitter) 🙄 about features and our road
