Ministers claimed they didn’t know the damage their changes to business rates would do. That’s not an excuse. If you’re a Minister making a decision on tax, you’re given analysis on what it’ll do. Labour either didn’t listen or didn’t care: full U-turn now.

As the City Minister who came up with the original package of Mansion House reforms, I’ve thought and worked more deeply on this issue than anyone. My view? 1. The basic problem is too much ‘institutionalisation’ of pensions. Except for wealthy SIPP holders, individuals have no

Do you remember your first job? That job probably taught you the basics of work - and rewarded you. But Rachel Reeves’ anti-business choices are stealing that opportunity from teenagers. So we Conservatives will save the Summer Job👇

🚨 Labour OFFICIALLY hate Rachel Reeves' job killing policies. After Conservatives called a debate in Parliament on our plan to Save the Summer Job, Labour chose not to vote against our motion, so we won. With their own ‘Burnham summer’ of job insecurity, Labour are learning.

There is an energy security scandal being hidden in plain sight which @KathrynPorter26 has been raising for days. The real risk of outages or grid failures - or worse. Today the Shadow Energy Secretary @ClaireCoutinho raised this in Parliament.

In the past couple of weeks we've seen some worrying trends on the GB power grid with unprecedented summer margin notices and three occasions on which system operator @neso_energy was forced to ask the EU to lift intraday interconnector trading limits But more worrying is what

End this madness! Discriminatory diversity targets have no place in cricket. Why should these English institutions run themselves out to please the woke dictators?

Labour have killed the summer job. Because of employment red tape and taxes, young people are trapped, unable to get their first experience of work in retail, hospitality, and tourism. Back our campaign to Save the Summer Job: cut red tape, cut taxes.

‼️BREAKING: Newly released Construction sector figures show confidence being absolutely crushed. These are shocking figures. You can’t tax and regulate your way to growth. Note to Starmer and Reeves: this is what happens when you try!

The fact that the UK invented television but has not produced its own global commercial media giant is in no small part down to regulators 'thinking small'. This sensible consolidation is, in my view, long overdue and a positive for the creative sector.

Full disclosure: I was a broadcasting exec at Sky for 20 years. But I've been 'out' for 7 years now and this is my personal view. Deals like this should have happened sooner and would give the relatively fragmented UK media landscape a stronger basis from which to compete.

Has there ever been a government which cared less for business? Instead of fixing their ruinously high energy costs that render steelmaking unprofitable, ministers are building a ‘Trump style’ tariff wall that will hurt British manufacturers and drive defence jobs overseas. Mad!

🇩🇪 Tougher rules on sick pay. 🇩🇪 Lower taxes on middle earners. 🇩🇪 Cutting red tape. 🇩🇪 Digital de-regulation. Funny how Labour and Lib Dem’s don’t want to harmonise this lesson from the EU’s largest economy.

This is what it looks like when a government starts to get serious about growth. Britain will too one day but I think it’s going to be the next but one PM to do so.

The Summer Job deserves to be saved. It's often the first start in life for young people. But this Government is crushing them. Our plan would protect summer jobs, and make it easier for businesses to hire young people👇
