still using asdf? switch to rtx. - 30x-200x faster - no need to specify exact versions (e.g.: "node 18" or "jq latest" works great) - `rtx install --all` to install all runtimes AND plugins with a single command - backwards compatible with asdf plugins github.com/jdxcode/rtx

If you enable experimental mode in mise, you'll now be able to install python 24x faster than before because it now uses precompiled pythons. 2.5s vs 60s. That said there are some caveats with precompiled python so some people may need to still use the compiled flavor.

I’ve spent probably half my time building mise working on CI/CD. I’m not happy with the state of CI/CD tooling. It needs to be easier.

Kudos. Not because of ruby, but anytime you’re reducing the number of technologies and being able to align on simpler architecture I think you’re on the right track. Removing things is the hardest thing to do in software.

I spent my entire morning trying to fix Chrome because it ran a bunch of its text through ROT2. IT fixed it: it was a corrupt Roboto font I had installed.
