    This evening I was again reminded how many startups have tried to solve the problem “what is going on in my area this weekend that might enjoy?” and… how unsolved that problem still is.

    Imagine designing something that won’t launch for 7 years, will take almost 7 months to get to its destination, and then has to work on the first try no second chances or bug fixes. Think you’d get it right on one shot? Congrats Team NASA and Team Perseverance!

    We keep comparing “media networks” (Tiktok, Youtube, Twitter) and “social media networks” (Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat) as if they are similar. Both can be user generated content. At their core, they are more different than alike. Even if the social networks include some media

    OH: Remote work is great for getting work done. Remote work is much worse for figuring out the work to get done.

    “It’s not you, it’s the stage of the company.” I have had this same conversation recently with a number of friends who joined a startup very early, did amazing work, saw huge scale of the company, and were now feeling stuck, unwanted, some even pushed out by a new manager
