I think the ad would work much better if it was reversed. All the objects should be expanding out of the iPad rather than being crushed into it made this edited version in five minutes (thanks iMovie!)

OpenAI is now required by court order to preserve all ChatGPT logs including "temporary chats" and API requests that would have been deleted if I understand this correctly, it means data retention policies for apps that use OpenAI API simply cannot be honored

On September 9th, Notion will delete the data of all Russian users due to new U.S. sanctions. This is why "file over app" is essential — you should not be subject to the whims of platforms and governments. Be sovereign of your own data.

The plan for Obsidian is to never grow beyond 10-12 people, never take VC funding, never collect personal data or analytics. Continue building with the assumption that software is ephemeral, files matter more than apps. Use formats that are open and durable. See our manifesto:
