New episode of the 901 Soccer Podcast for @BluffCity_Media is up and I was very lucky to have been joined by USMNT legend @RamosTab to talk the end of 901 FC, USMNT, and 2026 World Cup. Check it out.
Matt Crocker going from re-hiring Gregg Berhalter to, in just over a year, his next two hires being Emma Hayes and Mauricio Pochettino makes me think that perhaps he wasn't the one who made the Berhalter decision
🚨🚨🇺🇸🇦🇷 POCH TO USMNT 🇦🇷🇺🇸🚨🚨
FORMER SPURS, PSG & CHELSEA MANAGER MAURICIO POCHETTINO HAS AGREED TO BECOME THE NEXT USMNT COACH.
🙌🦅 OUR RECRUITING IS DONE. REJOICE AMERICA. WE HAVE A REAL COACH. 🦅🙌
European clubs continue to have good fortune playing games at many college football stadiums across the US. Two big ones tonight too at Ohio Stadium and Williams-Brice Stadium.
Coaching matters.
The USWNT went out and got the best coach in the world who has not only got them playing well but also made them much more likeable than they have been in a while.
That's what the USMNT needs to be doing right now so that we have juice going into 2026
Columbus Crew trophies pre-Gregg Berhalter: 5
Columbus Crew trophies post-Gregg Berhalter: 4
Columbus Crew trophies with Gregg Berhalter: 0
But remember, the "official" reason Gregg Berhalter got the US job was because of the alleged miracles he worked with the Crew
I keep coming back to this point: US Soccer (and by extension the USMNT players) don't have a fucking clue how unpopular they are with American soccer fans and just how much of a non-entity they are to Americans who are not soccer fans
Crazy that Pulisic is getting more attention from mainstream American media (Tonight Show, CBS Mornings) for a European club preseason tour than he did for the 22 World Cup or the 24 Copa America.
Just in case you were wondering what the stature of the USMNT is in this country
The iconic @acmilan is kicking off its U.S. summer tour with a match in New York City.
Global soccer stars @pulisic and @Ibra_official tell CBS Mornings about bringing the club to the U.S. and why confidence is key on the pitch: “If you’re not strong, you will not survive.”
Three USMNT games in St. Louis in less than 18 months.
For the love of all things holy, can we please get some damn variety in where we play and visit some new cities
Here's what I'll say about this in all seriousness: the USMNT has a huge problem in getting in front of the general American sporting public so having your head coach al over at the biggest college football game of the season is not a bad thing
"We talked beforehand about the tendencies of this referee. We knew what he's capable of and to be honest I think we played right into his hands."
