The Planned Parenthood TRO is probably the most insane judicial action this administration. A TRO directing an appropriation in the face of enacted statute is like Michelangelo-level resistance. Some have argued SCOTUS should reassign the case and there’s a lot to that. 1/x
I’m generally not a fan of the “impeach lib judges” movement. It may, however, be appropriate with Boardman.
(1) Her irrelevant and outrageous musing on Roske’s purported transgender status make it clear this isn’t just about disagreeing with her application of the Sentencing
During the first Bush administration, they were dealing with an influx of Haitian boat people. Something like 90,000 of them (seems quaint now). Well, a judge in Brooklyn (I think) kept enjoining the Coast Guard as it picked up Haitians and sent them home. AG Barr went straight
Here’s the thing: SNAP’s authorization has lapsed. So even if the $3b (or however many billion the Judge from Motley Rice thinks) exists, the program requiring its expenditure does not. 1/9
Hoo boy. Judge McConnell (once one of Senator Whitehouse's largest donors) issues an impossible to comply with decision. Cheekily voting the President's post asking for guidance on how to spend money he doesn't have, he responds "find the additional funds necessary."
If this phone was an official phone (I suspect it was), then this was likely in violation of 2 U.S.C. 6628. If Smith or Boasberg violated that statute, it’s a very serious problem that probably justifies a bar investigation and could predicate an impeachment inquiry.
CRUZ: Jack Smith subpoenaed Cruz’s cell phone records from AT&T. AT&T was ordered by corrupt Judge James Boasberg banning AT&T from disclosing the subpoena to Cruz. Boasberg told AT&T that if Cruz was informed, Cruz would destroy evidence and imperil national security.
ACLU asks J. Hendrix for an ex parte TRO. He makes them inform the acting US Atty. He then promptly denies the TRO after briefing. ACLU then leaves J. Hendrix a late night VM urging different relief; he tells them to file a motion. They do—on Good Friday—setting a deadline for
Sen. Cruz gave Taibleson an opportunity to respond to her critics. I’ve been at this for a while and I don’t think I’ve ever seen an answer quite like it.
It’s fitting that in the same day a Democrat judge gives a slap on the wrist for trying to kill Brett Kavanaugh and his children, we learn that the Democrat candidate for VA AG mused openly about how good it would be if his R colleague and his children were killed.
In a year of bad court decisions, this one takes the cake: Boardman gave a slap on the wrist to someone who attempted the worst sort of political terrorism … The decision is so potentially corrosive to our civic peace that Congress would be right to consider impeachment.
