We are excited to release OpenVM 2.0 Beta, which features substantial performance gains over the OpenVM 2.0 Alpha release in January. OpenVM 2.0 now proves mainnet Ethereum blocks in a p99 time of 7.9s on 16 5090 GPUs and has 964 MHz RISC-V throughput on 64 GPUs.

2/ OpenVM v1.0.0 is now recommended for production usage after an audit on @cantinaxyz and an internal audit by the @axiom_xyz team. We've also formalized the OpenVM design including the novel no-CPU zkVM architecture in a new whitepaper: openvm.dev/whitepaper.pdf

OpenVM is built upon a novel **no-CPU** zkVM design where the execution trace is not materialized in any single ZK circuit. This enables developers to integrate custom extensions without forking OpenVM libraries, minimizing security surface area and maintenance overhead.

1/ OpenVM enters production as a full-featured and performant zkVM framework. Since the initial December v0.1 release, we have made significant strides on performance: OpenVM v1.0.0 can verify Ethereum mainnet blocks for $0.0015/tx and under 3 minutes on CPU, a 5x+ improvement.
