I went into crypto full-time ~4 years ago. I was skeptical (mostly about it scaling), but I suspended my disbelief in order to learn. Everything shifted when I grasped the architecture with zero-knowledge proofs. The basics of zk are crucial for predicting the next decade's tech.

I've been in SF, LA, Miami and NYC this year. Outsiders don't understand how focused the SF tech scene is. Its monoculture is in bed by 10pm; nightlife doesn't exist - weekend nature hikes are your recreation. Lifestyle is optimized around health and startup success, not culture.

I often interview candidates who are still in college, and wish I could publish these conversations. Many of the smartest kids are planning to take a break from school to participate in DAOs, NFTs, & DeFi. Web3 will be a foundational skillset in the next generation of work.

DAOs are extreme organizations. They thrive either in contexts of singular focus, like raising $50m to buy the constitution, or as on-chain nations like BTC or Ethereum. DAOs struggle in slow marshes, where loyalty and predictability (tenants of traditional management) are vital.

I'd love to start a reading and discussion group exploring the impact of crypto on culture and society. Maybe, "Crypto, Culture, & Society" is an appropriate name. Lots of ways this could go. DM if interested. A syllabus for general consumption will exist, if started.
