I use Illustrator to shape vectors. I use Photoshop to shape pixels. I use InDesign to shape pages. I use Keynote to shape ideas.

Fonts are like friends. It's nice to have a bunch, but you only spend time with a few.

A designer is someone who pays attention to things more than most people.

My 14 yr. old son will be going to boarding school this fall. As parents, it's bittersweet for us. Cleaning out his room, I found this book. WTF?! Now this is how you read. #NextLevel An example of: Whatever your hands find to do, do with all your might.

Avoid the 3 monsters: perfection monster (tells you it's not perfect yet, symptom is procrastination), advice monster (quick to prescribe w/o complete understanding of the problem), & the people pleaser monster (seeks the validation of others: parents, peers, professors).

I want to bring your attention to what's happening in Nigeria with the Sars police unit (Special Anti-Robbery Squad) plagued with allegations of extrajudicial killings and abuse. You can read more here: theguardian.com/world/2020/oct… #EndSars #SARSMUSTEND

Designers aren’t being killed by cheap clients. They’re being killed by other designers with a poor mindset that think a win looks like this. I get it. People need to eat. But the smugness of the “race to the bottom” mindset is disturbing. Or, is it just me?

I don't mind the expression "Fake it til you make it" but it rubs some people the wrong way. The word "fake" conjures up impressions of fraudulent, misleading, and dishonest. If this bugs you, I suggest using "Believe it til you achieve it". Same idea, different words.

Don't know if anyone has told you this, but it's okay to post something on social media as a form of self-expression. Just for you. Just because. And nothing else. Removing the need to be self-validated through likes, comments and shares, will make you much happier.

When you undercharge, you train clients to think: design is easy, cheap & a commodity. They tell a friend. Friends tell other friends, creating downward pressure for other pros to do the same. You work harder to make less so you make up for it in volume. This is if it works. 1/7
