These revelations going public is huge. Campaigners have long believed that the targeting of women activists for sexual relationships by #spycops was only one part of the reality of the abuse of women by undercover cops.
Blair Peach was a school teacher and a trade union activist. When he attended an anti-racist protest, he was beaten to death by the Metropolitan Police. When his grieving partner Celia Stubbs started a campaign for justice, she was targeted by #SpyCops.
When the schoolchildren did this, the Met Police responded by targeting the organisers with #spycops, because of course they did. They did the same to every single cause deemed left wing from 1968 onwards.
