- That’ll do! There goes all my luck for the century #aurora
- 🚨ATTENTION! A small asteroid is expected to safely impact the French-English channel in ~4 hours time, 03:00:03 UT tomorrow. Object size is around ~1 meter and should appear as bright as the Moon momentarily as it enters the atmosphere. Approx visibility circle posted below. 1/
- 🚨ATTENTION🚨 A small asteroid is expected to "impact" east of the Philippines in ~8.5 hours time, 16:36:46 UT (±1min). Object size is around 1.5 meters and should appear as bright as the Moon momentarily as it burns up in the atmosphere. Approx visibility circle posted below. 1/
- The 2022 Lunar #Occultation of #Mars! This is a crop of a wider image, and shows the red planet on it's descent behind the eastern lunar limb captured last night from home. Sinus Gomer is central with Syrtis Major at top. See thread for processing. What an event!#astrophotography
- "Saturn rise" The Lunar #Occultation of #Saturn this morning, captured from southwest UK with my 16" scope. Here the ringed planet is emerging from behind the silhouetted limb of the #Moon - the rough lunar terrain made visible as a result. Stoked with how this turned out!
- #Saturn photographed at sunrise this morning. Gotta love a bit of blue sky every now and then! #telescope #astrophotography
- The @Space_Station just now as it flew over the UK. Live view from my 16” scope. What a beauty! #telescope #astrophotography #iss
00:00 - Last night's view of the @Space_Station as it flew over the UK at ~04:07 UTC - perhaps my best capture to date. Dragon's fins, Starliner's thruster groups and the cupola are nicely seen. There are even 'hints' of the Japanese flag on the Kibō module! #astrophotography #telescope
GIF - There she is... The #ISS making photobombing our nearest star this morning. Calm conditions allowed me to get close to the limit of my small 4.5" refractor, with All 5 iROSA panels visible, and @SpaceX Crew-6 Dragon prominent at the forward end of the station. #astrophotography
- The #ISS as it flew over the UK a few hours ago, captured from home with my 16" scope. Terrific detail on @SpaceX's Crew-6 Dragon this time around, with the radiators also on full display. #Astrophotography
- #Mars nearing closest approach, captured from home with my 16" scope. Moments of terrific conditions amongst the clouds last night with the famous Valles Marineris placed close to the centre of the image. #astrophotography
