    Has anyone heard of a company called RIP Medical Debt? I just opened a piece of mail announcing that they have "abolished the above referenced medical bill that we bought from your collection agency. This abolishment is a no strings attached gift" and I'm literally crying

    Connecticut Governor Ned Lamont says his state will purchase $1 billion of residents' medical debt for just $6.5 million. Then he will cancel it all, abolishing medical debt for 250,000 people. This is the first time a state has forgiven medical debt at a massive scale.

    Cleveland's United Church of Christ denomination announced last week it had canceled $33M of patient medical debt in the Buckeye State (for 10,757 households in 70 counties), bringing the total of debt canceled by the church in 2 years to $104M. bit.ly/35qYrq7
