ATELIER SOED IDEE

Iedereen ontzettend bedankt, maar ik ben echt overstelpt met aanbiedingen om nog een hartje te borduren! Als je niets van mij gehoord hebt... Excuses daarvoor, maar dan is de keus niet op jou gevallen ;) Thanks to everyone who offered to stitch another heart on my RR. But I got way to many offerings! I'm sorry if I didn't respond in person to you.... Since the RR took about two months to travel across the ocean, I decided to let it stay in the Netherlands. Hugs, Simone

Hoera! Na een hele lange reis (bijna 2 maanden) over de Oceaan, is mijn RR eindelijk thuis! Alleen.... Nog lang niet alle hartjes staan erop.... Is er iemand die het leuk vindt om nog één (of meerdere) hartjes aan m'n lap toe te voegen??? Ik kan ze natuurlijk wel zelf borduren, maar dat is lang zo leuk niet! Yippee! After a long journey (almost 2 months) across the Ocean, my RR is finally back home! But.... There are still some hearts missing.... Is there someone who wants to stitch one (or more) hearts on my piece? I could do it myself of course, but that's not as much fun! Hugs, Simone

Gisteravond de laatste steekjes gezet aan Karin's Friendship Sampler. Dus morgen gaat ie terug naar huis! Yesterday I finished Karin's Friendship Sampler. Tomorrow it will return home! Verder ben ik druk om nog van alles te maken voor m'n winkeltje. 2e Paasdag (maandag 5 april) sta ik met wat spulletjes bij Bep op de Paasopendag. Dus het is even hard werken in Atelier Soed Idee! De nieuwe artikelen gaan pas na 5 april in de webwinkel, dus als je interesse hebt moet je 2e Paasdag maar naar Hall komen ;) (Dames van het Dottyweekend; zie je dat ik iets "kippigs" heb gedaan met het bruin geruite stofje?) Ik ben helaas niet meer verder gegaan met de sneeuwmannen-quilt, maar heb nog wel lekker zitten prikken. Dus Diana's RR is ook af! Unfortunately I didn't continue the snowmen-quilt, but I did a lot of stitches. So Diana's RR is finished also! Diana heeft haar eigen kleurencombinatie gemaakt, met veel paars. Diana made her own color conversion, with a lot of purple. En omdat ik nog niet kon kiezen welke WIP ik uit de kast ging trekken, heb ik nog maar een blokje voor de Rouennerie quilt geborduurd. Because I hadn't decided yet which WIP I should pick up, I've stitched another block for the Rouennerie quilt. Part of "Rêve de Brodeuse" by Mon Ami Pierre. Inmiddels heb ik besloten dat ik Sampler Ronde van Anagram Diffusion maar 'ns onder het stof vandaan ga halen. In the mean time I've decided to dust off Sampler Ronde from Anagram Diffusion and pick it up again. Hugs, Simone

Gisteren was een goede dag! Nadat eerst Jolanda gezellig kwam koffiedrinken had ik in de loop van de dag en avond 3 Affo's! Yesterday was a good day! After Jolanda came over for coffee, I had 3 finishes! Eerst de "Vintage Homestead" quilt. Deze is gemaakt van een panel en andere stoffen van "Red Rooster". Het is een echte knuffelquilt geworden met een dikke vulling en een achterkant van fleece. Mijn mannen zijn er erg blij mee! ;) De quilt is volledig met de machine gemaakt. First the "Vintage Homestead" quilt. It's made from a panel and other fabrics from "Red Rooster". It's a very cuddly quilt, with a thick batting and a back of fleece. Een paar minuten geleden heb ik ook de laatste kruisjes gezet op Willeke's RR! Wat een verschil met die van Donna (40 ct of 28 ct). Deze kruisjes leken ineens ENORM! Maar nu Willeke's RR geweest is, betekent ook dat mijn eigen Friendship Sampler weer bijna thuis is... Alleen die van Diana en Karin nog. Just a minute ago I've made the last stitches on Willeke 's RR! What a difference with Donna's (40 ct or 28 ct). These crosses seems to be HUDGE! Now that Willeke's RR has been done, it means that my own Friendship Sampler is heading home.... Only Diana's and Karin's left to do. Hugs, Simone

Het was alweer een halfjaar geleden dat ik aan Nell'Aria van Renato Parolin begonnen was! Jammer eigenlijk, want ik blijf het een prachtig werk vinden... Maar goed, ik heb nu weer een behoorlijk stuk eraan geborduurd en ik ben voornemens om hem snel weer op te pakken. Op m'n WIP's pagina kun je de voortgang bekijken. It has been a half year ago since I started Nell'Aria from Renato Parolin. Too bad, because I really like this piece... But I've made quiet some progress and promised myself to pick it up soon again. On my WIP's page you can see the progress. Nell'Aria moest even wijken, omdat er weer 2 Friendship Samplers op me lagen te wachten. Gisteravond heb ik Donna's RR geborduurd. Nell'Aria had to step aside, because there were 2 Friendship Samplers waiting to be stitched. Yesterday evening I've stitched Donna's RR. De post bracht me weer een Friendship Sampler, deze keer van Kathy . Ik heb hem gelijk maar geborduurd zodat ie weer door kan naar Karin. Er zit gelukkig weer een beetje beweging in de RR! I received Kathy's Friendship Sampler by mail and stitched it right away. So it's ready to be send to Karin. It's nice to see the RR's are on the move again! Kathy heeft een heel eigen kleurencombinatie gemaakt en had de verschillende garens meegestuurd. Ik heb gekozen voor een lavendelblauwe kleur. Kathy has her own color-combination and sent the threads along with the RR. I've picked a lavender-blue shade out of it. De weermannen voorspellen een heel herfstachtig weekend, dus ik weet wel wat ik ga doen.... Borduren en quilten! De kerstelfjes vorderen gestaag, ik heb nu ongeveer een kwart gequilt. Helaas is het op foto's bijna niet te zien, dus jullie zullen even geduld moeten hebben ;) The weathermen predicted a very Autumnally weekend, so I know what I'm going to do......

Vorig jaar ben ik gestopt met dit borduurwerkje, omdat Kerstmis toch al voorbij was... Maar eigenlijk hoefde er helemaal niet meer zoveel geborduurd te worden. Dus toen ik deze van de week weer eens tevoorschijn toverde, was hij best snel klaar! Last year I stopped stitching on this project, because Christmas was already over... But there wasn't much left to stitch. So when I pulled this out a few days ago, it was pretty fast ready! Design: "Santa in the Country" - By the Bay Needleart Fabric: 32 ct. Gisteravond de laatste steekjes gezet op Aprils RR. April heeft gekozen voor een combinatie van paars, turquoise en groen. De letters zijn zwart. Yesterday I finished the stitching on April's Friendship Sampler. April chose a combination of purple, turquoise and green. The letterings is in black. Voor mijn hartje heb ik een kleurtje van Ozark Sampler "Sea Queen" gebruikt. I've used a thread of Ozark Sampler "Sea Queen" for my heart. I'll send the RR's on to Karin this week. Hugs, Simone

Na bijna een jaar, is mijn RR thuisgekomen! Ik had als thema "huisjes", zodat ik er een buurtje van kan maken. Heb alleen nog geen idee hoe ik dat zal gaan aanpakken.... After almost a year my RR came home! My theme was "houses", because I want to make a neighbourhood of it. Only I've got no clou how to do that... Ik had bij m'n RR wat bobbins met DMC gedaan, waar ik heel veel van in voorraad had. Met de vraag of iedereen de DMC om wilde ruilen voor wat anders. En dit heb ik terug gekregen: I enclosed some bobbins of DMC with my RR, because I had a lot of some colors in my stash. I asked all the stitchers to take some of the DMC and change it for something else. And this is what came back to me: Een paar dagen geleden viel ook die andere RR op m'n deurmat, dus ik ben eerst weer hartjes aan het borduren. Hier ben ik geëindigd met de Isa V. Here's what I stitched on Bianca's RR: Design: "Stitching is Heavenly" by Alma Lynn. Floss: DMC Bianca's theme was "Stitching", with a large Alma Lynn piece in the center. So I thought this was perfect for it. I've sent the RR to Bianca right after I finished it, so it's the first RR of our little group, that's back home. Hugs, Simone

I also have some stitching updates to share... Before the weekend I finished the first page of Nell'Aria. I really love how this come out! I wish I could have worked a bit more on it, but I had other obligations.... Yesterday evening I finished the heart on Sara's RR. Sara wants us to pick one of your favourite threads. So I chose one from Victorian Motto shoppe "Faded Berries", with DMC ecru for the dots. Here's a close-up: BTW.... I'm overwhelmed by the comments on my Blogoversary give away! 62 comments.... Friday night I stitched a heart on Deborah's Friendship Sampler. She chose the original DMC conversion for her sampler. The sampler is already on its way to Karin, because it was a little delayed... Vrijdagavond heb ik weer een hartje geborduurd. Deze keer op de Friendship Sampler van Deborah. Deborah heeft de originele DMC conversie gekozen voor haar RR. Hij was een beetje vertraagd, dus hij is al onderweg naar Karin. Today it was another beautiful day so I continued the filling of all the little bags for the Summer wreath. And now it's finished! Vandaag met het mooie weer heerlijk verder gegaan met het vullen van de zakjes. We hebben vroeg gebarbecued en daarna heb ik alle zakjes aan de krans gebonden. Het tafelkleed heb ik vorig jaar bij Bellebien gekocht. En hier heeft de krans een mooi plekje gekregen in de vensterbank op een Franse bloempot. First of all; let me see thank you! I had so much wonderful comments on my craft room! And yes... I'm over-organised... Yesterday I had the most wonderful time since ages! Marne (from the US)was visiting the Netherlands, so we had a meeting with some Crazy exchange members; Caroline , Jacqueline , Joke and Bianca came to my house, so that we could chat, laugh, eat and stitch (but we didn't have time for that). From left to right: Joke, Caroline, Bianca, Marne, me and Jacqueline I didn't take pictures myself, but Caroline made a lot so please take a look into her album . The good thing was that we had the most beautiful Spring weather you could imagine, so we spent the whole time in our back yard! Girls, I hope we can do this again in the near future... I had the honour to stitch the first heart on Ann's Friendship RR! Ann only stitched the border herself, so I had a lot of choice! I've chosen the heart in the topleft corner. Ann asked to stitch the heart in your own favourite color, as long as it's DMC. I used DMC 4130 and 4150. I also made a page on my website for the RR. Yesterday I finished the stitching on Chantal's RR! It wasn't as bad as I expected it to be... Chantal wanted a Stitching Devil by EMS on her RR, and I chose the little devil with thimble. And here's the complete RR so far: I also heard from Nic that she received my Birthday exchange for her 40th birthday! I was a bit late with sending, but it was still in time. I've joined a group of stitchers for another RR. We're going to stitch the Carriage House Friendship Sampler . The first send date will be end of February. I finished the stitching for my own RR: I'm using a 36 ct. Sand linen and I chose to do all of my hearts in different reds. I've used 1 strand Belle Soie "Cranberry" silk for the dark red and an unknown kind of silk (a gift from someone, with no label on it. But I like it a lot!) for the lighter one.
