Welcome!

Hi, you all!

My name is Wolf and I want to share with you this little project of mine: Big Little Stories.

What is it, you ask?

On one hand, Big Little Stories is a set of stories meant to be told to 7 to 12 year olds, that allows them not only to be a passive audience, but also to take their part as the main characters and steer them in any direction they want them to go.  Thus, what we want with these stories is not only to recover the years-long tradition of telling stories to our kids, but also -As our motto says -to tell stories, together.

On the other hand, Big Little Stories is also a game, in which each story is kind of a scenario to be played and, sometimes, solved.  In this game, the players take the part of the characters and overcome the situations posed for them in one way or another, and get points for solving them correctly.

But what is “correctly”?

Well, it depends on the story, and the lesson it’s designed to give; because Big Little Stories is also a pedagogical experience, designed to help 2nd to 7th graders to acquire values, soft skills and to reinforce the knowledge and skills that they can develop in the classroom, providing both parents and teachers with a didactic tool to complement what’s seen in school.

So, yes: Technically, Big Little Stories is a roleplaying game, not unlike Dungeons and Dragons and others of its kind.  However, what sets BLS apart is that it’s designed with a pedagogical approach that ensures that each story -from the setup to the reward -focuses on the development of a certain set of values, skills or knowledge.

So, you could say that, in short, Big Little Stories is kind of a Didactic Roleplaying Game.

One that makes parents, children and teachers learn and play, telling stories together.

Greetings,

Wolf
