Step 2: Technical Assignment

Eligible applicants receive a technical assignment that must be completed and submitted before a specified deadline. The assignment is designed to assess learning ability, problem-solving skills, and basic technical readiness, rather than prior programming knowledge.

Step 3: Interview

Applicants who successfully complete the technical assignment are invited to an interview with HackYourFuture staff. The interview focuses on motivation, learning attitude, availability, communication skills in English, and alignment with programme expectations.

Final admission decisions are based on the evaluation of the technical assignment and the interview. Accepted candidates receive confirmation and onboarding information and are enrolled in the programme. Participation in the programme is free of charge for all accepted participants.

HackYourFuture is a hybrid program. Most learning takes place online, but you’ll also attend in-person sessions in Amsterdam at least once a week.

The program is intensive. You should be available for the weekly class in Amsterdam and have time every day to study, complete homework, and work with your classmates.

Our program is mainly for refugees and displaced persons who hold a valid work and residency permit in the Netherlands.

It’s good to inform your contact person that you’re joining a professional training program. After being selected, we’ll share detailed information about the program and ask your contact person at the municipality to review and sign the learning plan we’ve prepared for you.

HackYourFuture is specifically designed to support refugees and displaced persons who face barriers to education or employment. For this reason, Dutch citizens are unfortunately not eligible to apply. As an alternative, you may wish to explore our partner organization, Codam, which offers similar opportunities.

Yes, but keep in mind that the program requires a strong weekly commitment. You’ll need to manage your time carefully to keep up with lessons and assignments.
