Moonlit FLora Suite Collection for the May Pals’ Blog Hop

Welcome to the Stampin’ Pretty Pals’ Blog Hop!
This month’s Flowers in Bloom theme couldn’t be more perfect for the month of May when everything starts to feel alive again! From soft petals to bold blooms, today’s projects are packed with fresh floral inspiration to help you create something beautiful. Whether you love clean and simple designs or layers of color and texture, you’re going to love hopping along with us!
Here’s my hidden flap fun fold Moonlit Flora card:

A friend asked for a wedding card in Earth tones for a beach wedding, Honestly, at first I was stumped. An Earth tone wedding card for a beach wedding with 4 days notice. Not only that, she needed two that were kind of the same but different. Enter the Moonlit Flora Suite. These colors, DSP (designer series papers), the embossing folder – all of it screams Earth tones that are gorgeous enough for a wedding card.

Of course, since this is a fun fold, I will be uploading it in the Creative Creases Challenge gallery as a design team member.

Since I’ve never used this suite of products, it’s eligible to be uploaded to the Never-Before-Used-Schtuff challenge.

This stunningly gorgeous DSP definitely qualifies for the Love Those Pretty Papers Challenge Blog!
Measurements:
I love this fun fold and have used it many, many times. Just some of the reasons I love it is that it fits inside a medium envelope, it combines layers and papers beautifully, adds texture with the embossed panel, and is just plain a show stopper. You can see some of my previous cards here, here, here, and here. Believe me, I could’ve kept adding links, but you can see how versatile and fabulous each completed card turned out. This fun fold makes perfect use of a 6″ by 6″ piece of DSP since you only lose 1/4 off the top or bottom. I just trimmed a piece of the Moonlit Flora DSP to 5-1/4 by 6 inches, then cut it in half so I had two 5-1/4 by 3 inch pieces of DSP for this card.
I used Secret Sea cardstock for the base and the new gorgeous Golden Glow for the mats and ribbon.
Here’s the template with all the measurements:

- You will also need a piece of DSP trimmed to 6 by 2-1/2 inches for the envelope flap
- Punch a 1-inch circle from coordinating DSP and run it through your XYRON create-a-sticker for the envelope seal
What I Did:
- Unless otherwise noted, I used multipurpose liquid glue to adhere the pieces together
- After trimming and scoring the Secret Sea cardstock base, I trimmed two pieces of Golden Glow cardstock to 5-3/8 inches by 3-1/8 inches and adhered one to the front flap and one to the inside flap on the right side as shown
- Making sure you have the DSP pieces in the proper order (from left to right), adhere them to the Golden Glow cardstock
- After dry embossing a piece of Mossy Meadow cardstock using the 3D Fern and Flora embossing folder, trim the cardstock to 3-1/8 by 5-3/8 inches
- After adding white craft ink to the white craft stamp pad, lightly drag it along the embossed side of the Mossy Meadow cardstock
- HINT: Go slow and have a very light hand so you can keep as much ink as possible only on the raised design
- I did have to add a few layers of color, making sure that the ink dried completely between layers
- Adhere the embossed cardstock to the flap of the base of the card as shown
- Using Golden Glow ribbon, make a loopy loop bow (see below) and attach it to the DSP using glue dots
- After wiping down a scrap piece of Mossy Meadow cardstock, stamp your sentiment using VeraMark ink
- Cover the sentiment with white embossing powder and heat set it with your heat tool
- Crop the sentiment using one of the Nested Essentials Dies and add dimensionals to the back of it
- Adhere the sentiment to the front of the card making sure that the dimensionals straddle the bow
- Finally, add three of 2026-2028 In Color white butterflies to the front sentiment
- All 3 of my butterflies actually cover tiny spots of white embossing powder that I didn’t get off before I heat set the powder
With that, I’d finished this coordinated card, envelope and envelope seal set.
Loopy Loop Bow:
I was able to watch Mary Deatherage’s, from Stamps -n- Lingers, Perfectly Pears tutorial. In that video, she showed her loopy-loop bow. That’s what I used for the front of my card. I’m bow-challenged and this technique allows me to relatively easily add ribbon without adding the bulk of a tied bow. If you’ve never seen her videos, you owe it to yourself to watch them. I think she’s the Queen of the Collage. Gorgeous cards!!
