Vocational Training, Mentorship & Employment Opportunities for Refugee Women in Charlotte, North Carolina

Refugee women in the Charlotte metro area face many hurdles to productive employment, including childcare needs & transportation issues. But one of the biggest hurdles is lack of vocational training opportunities geared towards the unique needs of these women. Make Welcome Refugee Women’s Center is a holistic program designed to equip refugee women with the needed tools to find sustainable work opportunities and build social capital in Charlotte, NC.

We do this work through:

Providing welcoming community through art events, cultural exchanges and friendship building
Enabling to thrive in the United States through vocational training, job skills building and English tutoring
Giving hope for the future through mental health support and practical care in navigating American culture
