Screaming into the Void

Image

I won’t be doing that. I am taking a break until November, nothing serious but I’m very busy and a break is needed. I will be back.

Tulip

Image

A perfect example of a tulip in a wild garden.

Nose to the Grindstone

Image

Nose to the grindstone is not a phrase I am partial to, having seen a grindstone. But this bee fits the phrase as commonly used.

Wrong

Image

Some of the leaves are out of focus and overexposed and the background is imperfect. But I doubt any of that matters, It’s a tulip after all.

Orchestra

Image

Is there such a thing as an orchestra of flowers? Sounds like a good moniker.

Anger

Image

Not really angry, just disappointed I caught him lunching.

Flowers

Image

The perfect background.

Evil Incarnate

Image

There are a large number of gulls where I live. And sometimes they are photogenic.

Cormorant

Image

It does not look pleased to see me.

Some birds are curious, especially when young.

Hug

Image

The flower was encased in the leaves of another plant.

Image

An old truck on an urban street just begged to be photographed.

Seeing butterflies close up never ceases to amaze me.

Grasshopper

Image

This creature looks mean and evil. It’s hard to miss evil these days.

Cabbage White

Image

This butterfly is mainly black and white with the exception of its eyes which are green. In black and white the eyes were highlighted better than in colour.

Crazy Windows

Image

Black and white helped me highlight the centre window using selective brightness and contrast.

Pigeon

Image

Black snd white kept the focus on the bird an made the background more subtle.

Bee

Image

Black and white helped highlight the bee.

Gull

Image

Black and white toned down the background.

Egret

Image

Black and white highlighted the reflection and other details.

Screech

Image

Some bird calls are less pleasant than others, more like a screech. On the other hand if that’s what it takes, by all means screech.

Starling

Image

Starlings don’t seem be anyone’s favourite bird. This one was having lunch.

Portrait

Week

ImageLet’s start the week on a positive note!

That Look

Image

Sort of what I look like when I am not sure if something is real or A.I.

Edge of the Water

Image

Does not seem to be a great place to grow, but what do I know.

Gull

Does not seem as happy to see me as I am to see it.

Bee

Busy, as the saying goes.

Image

Another bird with its eye on me.

Sparrow

It has its eyes on me!

Tulip

Image

There is a certain dignity in tulips even as they fade.

Discipline and Leadership

Leadership builds cooperative teams and results in loyalty, pride, productivity and often safety. Too much discipline, too many rules of behavior, at their worst kill spirit and motivation.

Bee in Flight

Image

I didn’t have time to change my depth of field or shutter speed, so this was a lucky shot. Plus it has a surreal black and white TV look to it.

Shoreline

Image

Shot these flowers just short on a hill overlooking a river.

Female Merganser

Image

A long lens got me close to this duck. She was fishing, diving deep in the water and coming up for air.

Gosling

Image

These birds have a very confident stride.

Around the Bend

Image

A chipmunk does what chipmunks do on trees.

Stormy

Image

I guess this bird feels like most us, hovering over a precipice waiting for disruption or commonsense to prevail.
