Hey, Community Arts and Cultural Development (CACD) Practitioners!

The Australian Government is developing a new National Cultural Policy to shape the future direction of the creative and cultural sector.

Despite its significant impact across the continent, CACD is currently under-recognised and under-resourced.

A public consultation is underway, and submissions are now open for you to share your views and help guide the new National Cultural Policy.

Representatives from CACD organisations currently funded by Creative Australia (plus some Creative Australia award recipients) recently got together, discussed how the next policy could better support and expand CACD practice, and agreed on eight recommendations to inform submissions to the Office for the Arts. The full list of who formulated these recommendations is available here.

This website is designed to support the CACD sector – and anyone passionate about arts and culture in communities – to make submissions, advocating for increased recognition and resourcing of CACD.
