My Other Creations: Party Time Page in Dylusions Creative Journal

PARTY TIME is this week's Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge theme.  I went for a party-themed page in my Dylusions Creative Journal.

I started this journal page with some stenciling and acrylic paint.

While that dried, I decided to make my own patterned paper using lots of stamps and Ranger Jet Black Archival Ink on white cardstock.
Image

I added some Washi tape next.
Image

I smeared and smooshed on some acrylic paint.
Image

I tore off some strips of my patterned paper and glued them to my journal page.
Image

Things were looking a little crazy-pants, so I toned it down and blended the patterned paper in with white acrylic paint.

I made hats for some Tim Holt paper doll girls and outlined them with a black Sharpie.  I also stamped one last text frame onto my background.
Image

I typed up a "party time" sentiment and added that to my girls and glued everything together.

I hope there are lots of good times ahead for the new year!

Here are the supplies I used that you can find at Simon Say Stamp:

My Cards and Tags: Altered Snow Globe Tags using Paper Smooches' Super 2 and Reverse Confetti's See Through Tag Dies

"Cityscape" is our theme this week over at the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog.  I made my version of a snow globe scene on these two tags:

I started with one of my favorite techniques, which is creating a panel out of random strips of washi tape.  All I did was stick the tape to white cardstock.
Image

Next I got out the city dies, laid them on the washi tape panel, and ran it through my Sizzix Big Shot.
Image

It looked a little like Crazy Town, so I toned down some of the blaring parts with white acrylic paint.  I outlined the buildings and some of the windows with a black Sharpie.
Image

These were TOO white now (I know-- it is silly), so I added some color back in with acrylic paint.
Image

Next I started working on the tags.  These tags came from a Reverse Confetti die called, "See Through Tag."  I used Strathmore Mixed Media paper.  Once they were cut, I stamped them with some text on the background.  The text is from an Inky Antics stamp set (designed by yours truly) called, "Encouraging Words."
Image

I cut some circles out of black cardstock using Simon Says Stamp's Circle Loops dies and glued them around the hole opening.  Then I colored the tag backgrounds using more acrylic paint and Infusions color stain.
Image

Next I glued the citcyscapes to the tag backgrounds.
Image

I added some paper behind the cityscapes to show through the hole openings, added some white paint through a snow stencil, and outlined some parts of the buildings again (as well as the edges of the tags) with a black Sharpie.  I added some eyelets and twine to the top and finished them off with some Small Talk- Occasions sticker sentiments.
