I’m a doodler, mom, author, and founder of TinkerLab. I’ve spent over two decades helping thousands of parents and teachers nurture children’s creative thinking through art.
I believe that every child deserves the chance to think like an artist and inventor, and that making art should be thoughtful, fun, and engaging.
My journey started with my own kids and a lot of messy experiments. What began as “let’s try this and see what happens” turned into a mission: give busy adults a simple system so kids can explore, create, and build confidence without the chaos.

What ages is this for?
Projects are designed for children ages 3-8, with specific tips for adapting to different developmental stages and interests.
How much time do I need for each project?
Most projects take 5-15 minutes to set up and can be explored for as long as your child or students are engaged. Videos are around 5 minutes long, and can be watched ahead of time to keep kids screen-free.
Do I need special art supplies?
You probably have most of what you need already! Our core supplies are simple: paper, crayons, markers, paint, glue, scissors, and items from nature or your recycling bin. We have a few projects with fun, specialty supplies, but for the most part no fancy art store trips required! (Though we can’t stop you from using those Michael’s coupons burning a hole in your pocket.)
