Let's see what the Design Team have created to get you inspired this month!...

Natalia - Hello! I created this bright card using the Big Birthday Surprise stamps and the Starburst stencils for lots of lovely texture...
Image

Liz - This cute MDF plaque/ sign can be decorated in so many ways, but for this project I used some shimmers from my stash, to keep a light look to it and to show the design already on it, I used the stamps from the Sending Love stamp set, as well as the matching die set, I love this little cutie mouse, so couldn't resist him peeking out between some plants, leaving some stamped directly on the base and some die cut to give different depths, after cutting out the taller flowers and using 3D foam to again add depth I highlighted the flower heads with some Sunbeam Shimmer stencil butter, I then added some tiny bits on the base to look like blossom off the flowers spreading in the breeze, The butterfly was coloured with copics and again die cut out, I then scored along the body so the wings lifted up, I finished it off with a sentiment from the Just A little Note stamp set.

If your cards are feeling a bit flat lately… this is your sign to TURN UP THE COLOUR. Because this card? It’s not shy. It’s bold, it’s bright and it’s bursting with personality – exactly the kind of card that makes someone stop, smile and say “wow, you made this?!”

Image

Let’s start with the background because it is doing some serious heavy lifting. By layering stencils and blending colour, you get instant depth and texture without adding loads of bulky layers. It gives you that rich, mixed media look but keeps everything nice and flat for posting – win win.

The clever bit here is letting the background shine instead of covering it up. Once you’ve got that colour and texture down, you really don’t need much else. Add a focal point, keep it clean, and let the design do its thing.

Those florals are the perfect finishing touch. Bright, bold and full of life, they bring that handmade charm we all love. And because they’re stamped and coloured, you can make them totally your own – go softer, go brighter, add sparkle… whatever your style is.

If you’ve got stencils in your stash that you’re not using much, try this. Layer them up. Play with colour. Be a bit braver with your combinations. You might be surprised how quickly you go from “meh” to “WOW I love this”.

If you enjoyed this idea, you’ll love mixing and matching other Polkadoodles stencils and stamps from the Hello Spring collection – they’re designed to work together so you can keep creating without overthinking it.

And if you make something inspired by this, don’t keep it to yourself… come and share it in the Polkadoodles Facebook group. It’s full of crafty inspiration and we LOVE seeing what you create.

Now go grab those stencils and get inky… your next favourite card is waiting. 🎨✨

Hi crafters! I started this project using some Lindy's Magicals onto the base of some smooth white card, then when dry I added some heat embossed stamping here and there using white embossing powder — this is great for adding texture. I then used another stamp to produce the random dots in black ink. I love the look of film strips, so I stamped this one and cut it out using my ScanNCut (you can of course fussy cut by hand), then I layered some hand fussy cut flowers which I had coloured with my alcohol markers, simply adding a stamped heart too. I used one of the sentiments from the sentiment strip stamp set to finish it off.

ENRICA - Hi crafty friends! I made this cute tag to celebrate the arrival of spring by coloring the pretty Primrose digital stamp with Copic markers. I created my own background with metallic watercolors and Distress Ink, I then printed some elements from the Udderly Cute printable ephemera set, fussy cut and layered them to create charming details.

I really enjoy how it turned out, hope you like it too! Follow me:

Liz - I love the look of waxes used to create highlights on MDF and Chipboard pieces, so for this MDF Album cover I used some black gesso to add a base layer and covered with acrylic paints. After adhering the chipboard, I dabbed more of the acrylic colours here and there with a stencil brush, this creates added texture too, then I highlighted along the edges here and there with some Gold coloured wax. The leaf at the bottom of the album cover was created using two die cut leaves out of 300gsm cardstock, glued together, then placed on the base before colouring. The Chipboard Dragonfly is two seperate pieces of the same design I adhered together along the body so the wings could be slightly lifted. The flower in the centre chipboard frame has a die cut flower which I cut out of a thin tin can, glued in place and I added a Polkadot in the centre, then coloured over the top and highlighted with wax. Products used:

Let's see what the Design Team have created to get you inspired this month!...

Nikky - I'm a bit in love with our new Bright and Beautiful collection - it's packed with yummy stamps, dies and stencils to die for. Here I used the Shutter Heart die and tore it all up to make it look distressed...I kinda went a bit OTT and got carried away with embellishments so you can't see much of it haha! Underneath I inked the Boho Nomad stencil all in Pink Oxide and then overlaid it with Bubbleicious and a bit of the Chevron layering stencils. THe embellishments are the Ribbon Tag dies and the sentiments are from the Sentiment Strip stamps and dies HERE. Everything is from the B&B release!

Rachael - Hello! This week I've had SO much fun with the Bright and Beautiful collection - PD has so many new goodies, make sure you check them out! This was a really quick and easy card, I just inked the background and added a hint of the Poppies Layering Stencils (so cool!) and then overstamped in black - SO quick but I think this huge stamp is a real statement, I love it!

Image

Liz - Do you love creating with MDF? I do and thought I'd use one of the fabulous MDF Altered art boards as the base of my project, I used some watercolour paper on the top with some smooshed distress inks, when dry I started building up some layers. The focal image is created with the Love and Kisses stamps, I coloured these with distress re-inkers edging with vintage photo distress ink, for a light vintage look. I fussy cut some of the leaves off the stamp set for added interest,
The gorgeous Celebrate die finishes it off along with some white paint splatters - I think this is great for Anniversaries or Valentines Day. Hope you like it!

Rachael - Hi everyone. Rachael here, sharing some inspiration from the bright and beautiful collection. I love a CAS card, and this collection was made for this! Using the circle shutter die, and the dahlia flower die I was able to make this beautiful wedding card. I just cut the dies from white card stock, colouring the flowers with alcohol markers. The great thing about these flower dies is they can be simple like this, or inked. layered and shaped for more realistic looking blooms!

Image

Liz - Today I'm sharing this lovely Angel - who doesn't HAVE to be an angel if you wish...this gorgeous MDF kit can be inked, painted and decorated and has the face and hair details engraved. Just glue her together and attach to the stand, but you could also add her to the front of a journal too - lush!
Image

Christine - Hi there! I made this 6 x 6 card using the fab Boho Circles layering stencils and just overlaid them with the Scribble Heart dies. This looks so cool I think - but is so easy to make!
Image

Natalia - Hello crafters! This card was made using the new Just a Little Note stamps and dies. I created an inky Distress Oxide background with the Boho Circles layering stencils and then just finished it with a sentiment from the stamp set. I love the look of this but it was pretty quick to make!
Image

Rachael - I made this while staring out at the snow from Storm Goretti. Mmmmm hot coffee! I started off die-cutting all the bits. I used a set called Sweet Moments die bundle available here and scalloped rectangles and tags die from here using a combination of plain, coloured and patterned card stock. I made up the coffee cups, then using picked raspberry distress ink, and heart wreath stencil I added detail onto the scalloped panel. I used the sentiment from the coffee set, and stuck it to vellum, before fussing cutting around the whole thing. I layered it all together using foam pads for dimension, and added stickles for sparkle. Back to the coffee and keeping warm!
Nikky - I think we've all gone a bit cray cray for the new Bright and Beautiful collection this month - it's so great and easy to work with too!
