Yes. Slack supports major screen readers on desktop (NVDA, JAWS, and VoiceOver) and mobile (VoiceOver, Talkback). We offer dedicated help documentation and audio/video tutorials for screen reader users, as well as features such as:

  • Customizable message readouts for desktop and iOS
  • Screen reader-specific commands for replaying the last messages in a conversation (Command+Option+0 through 9 on Mac, Control+Alt+0 through 9 on Windows) and summarizing workspace activity (Command+Option+S on Mac, Control+Alt+S on Windows)
  • Customizable audio notifications for incoming and outgoing messages
  • Opt-in reminders to add alt text
