Why is pip recommended over conda?

I'm actually building a conda-forge recipe and I'm wondering why is pip more preferable than conda?

Hi, @rpanai! I don't think there is a specific reason; I think we just chose pip as a commonly used package manager and have not yet had a chance to add a conda distribution as well. We will add this to our tentative roadmap, but it will likely take some time to attend to this, as it's a busy time for us.
