Here's a few pictures from this month. I really am getting bad about keeping the blog updated. I don't know why. Anyhoot, this is a photo summary of the goings on around here. We had our big yard sale, went to the park, Stephen painted trim, I painted a cabinet (this is the before picture), went to some yard sales with Rebecca, and fed a raccoon. He looked really really skinny, and I felt sorry for him and tossed out a piece of bread to it.

Catch Up

We've stayed pretty busy lately, so I've been neglecting my blog. I changed phones and downgraded, so I can't post to Facebook from my phone anymore. So time to get back to blogging.

This picture was on Valentine's Day.

This was the other day, Stephen and Rebecca were cleaning up the deck. She loves following him around. And the deck is looking much better now!

Kelly was in town for a few days for a surprise visit. We had a fun, busy week with her! Rebecca was not into getting her picture here.

Heather, Matt, Lee, Libby, Joshua (and David, Jimmy, Davey, and Naomi) came over Saturday night.

Today I worked more on the stuff I need to get rid of at consignment. This is my first time selling anything at Rhea Lana's. It's so complicated to get it all organized, entered on the website, tagged, priced, ironed. . . .I hope it's worth it!

Rebecca saw Santa Claus the other day and got a candy cane from Grandma (or Mrs. Claus, as the rest of us would call her). She doesn't really know much about Santa Claus, but she likes singing Santa Claus is Coming to Town. :)

Update

I haven't been good about updating my blog this year. Here's a few pictures from the last couple of months.

Rebecca has been working on some books with colors and letters. She calls it "my school", and she loves it! She knows colors, shapes, the letters of the "alfbet" as she calls it, numbers, most letter sounds.

 

This was a few weeks ago at the pumpkin patch. She and I had a loooong day, so by afternoon when we were at the pumpkin patch, she did not want to take pictures.

 

 

Here's a couple from the day before the election. We stood outside the courhouse for a little while waving signs.

 

Kelly was in town for a few days to visit with us, and we loved having her, and I'm glad she got to be here for the election.

 

 

This was election night at the victory party.

 

We put up our Christmas decorations on the day after Thanksgiving. We didn't go Black Friday shopping of course. I got my new microwave just before Thanksgiving when it was on sale, so I was happy with that. No shopping for us, thank you! Our microwave is waiting to be installed, hopefully this weekend. Home Depot ordered a white one, so we had to send it back and wait for the black one to arrive.

 

We had our North Pole breakfast with our elves, Snowflake and Oodles. Snowflake is Rebecca's elf, and Oodles is Justin and Jackson's elf. This is our first year with Snowflake. She came last year for a visit when Oodles brought her from the North Pole.

 

 

11/10/12 yard sales

I went to yard sales with a friend today, and we had a great time and I found a lot of great deals. I got lots of clothes for Rebecca, books to put back for Rebecca(including Nancy Drew, Encyclopedia Brown, Little Women, the Wind in the Willows), vintage Christmas ornaments, jar tongs, an orange/pineapple candle, batting, ties, and a few other goodies. Paula got a very nice, new briefcase and new curtain tie backs. It's been a good day!

Yard Sales 11/3/12

Joy and I had a great day at yard sales. My favorite purchase is my porch swing! I have wanted one for so long!I also got a drying rack, twin headboard/footboard, a huge ball of yarn, a couple of vintage sheets and pillowcases. Not a bad day at all!

Shadow box

I decided it was time to change out the shadow box for some different things. This one has different sewing notions (my great grandmother Bates' and my Grandma Brickey's), lace, & a doily (from yard sales). I like it. Thank you Pinterest!

October fun

We've had a busy month. October is always busy. There's so many fun things to do in October.

Joy and I took the kiddos to the park to take their pictures in their Halloween costumes.

 

 

 

 

This boy makes the cutest Peter Pan ever!

 

Captain Hook and Peter Pan had lots of fun sword fighting at the park in between pictures.

 

Little Tinker Bell wasn't in much of a mood for having her picture taken.

 

We went to the state fair last week with Rebecca. Last year, she barely reached 36 inches and was just tall enough to go on the kid rides.

 

 

I loved the little burroughs, or whatever they're called. The darker one had the craziest hair/fur. They were sooo cute!

 

 

 

 

Saturday was a really busy day, including a trip to the pumpkin patch. We were gone all day, and Rebecca was not in a photogenic mood. I didn't get many good pictures at the pumpkin patch this time.

 

She liked playing the duck races.

 

I love the tongue, Justin. Justin by the way called me Sunday night after church to tell me he had asked Jesus into his heart! He was sooooo excited! I am so proud of him! He wants to tell everybody about Jesus!

 

 

Love all of those pumpkins! I think I'll make some pumpkin upside down cake with ours. Mmmmm!

 

Rebecca sat by Micah on the hay ride, so after that she wanted to stay with Micah for the rest of our visit there. I think Micah got tired of it. :)
