A Wake-up Call
Yesterday, while performing a keyword search of my emails, I came across this email from my son sent a while ago.
"I gave your abstract and preface to a random female coworker, and she just came back to say how admirable she thought it was that you have gotten your PhD and written this dissertation [indirectly] for people like her. She was wondering if you have any thoughts on turning it into something more for the public sphere, like a presentation or work of nonfiction."
Talk about feeling guilty...and inspired. The problem is that every time I reread my dissertation, I get trapped in that stale academic voice and mindset. So I've decided to begin again...this time with the genre of the personal essay--known to the postmodern world as the "blog."
As my ultimate goal is to compile my thoughts on female self-actualization for publication, I would love to hear your responses. Please let me know what you've read that inspired your female self-actualizing.
Enjoy,
Read and Exceed
