Graff Track Meet

The last day of school is upon us and the last of the Graff Track Meet is here.  Maren will be moving to the Middle School next year.  It will be so strange to not have a child in elementary school.  :(  I was able to volunteer and helped out with the softball throw and giving out ribbons to all the 3rd place winners.  I think Maren wanted me to give her the ribbons because she came in 3rd place almost every time.  She isn't too happy about that, but I think she did GREAT!

7th & 8th Grade Track

It was such a fun year to watch my two kids running and jumping.  Maren made it to one of the meets.  She wanted to miss school and watch what Jackson and Aliza did in track.  Of course it was a cold day the day she came.

Aliza ran the meters, hurdles, and relays.

Jackson ran the mile, some meters, hurdles, and poll vaulted.

Aliza and these girls (one is missing) took first every time.  They were seconds from beating the record.

Jackson beat his personal record in poll vaulting and came close to beating the school record.

He was participating in track and lacrosse.  Luckily the track meets were mostly on Thursdays and lacrosse was on the weekends.  Not sure what will happen next year when he is in high school.
I so enjoyed being at the meets and watching my wonderful children doing their best.

One time the track meet was in Laurel.  Maren (left) and her friend Jenna were watching the meet during their recess.  So cute.

Maren--Graff Track Meet

I was excited to help out at the Graff Track meet on the last day of school.  I helped hand out ribbons and really had a fun time.  I loved when Maren ran in a couple of races.  She did pretty good.Image

Haley, Maren, & Bailey ran the relay.  Maren ran so well and even past a person so they came in 3rd.   So proud of her. (Maren doesn't know who that first girl is in the picture below.  She said she didn't run with them.  Oops)

Jackson and Track

Since Jackson hasn't been doing gymnastics, he has been able to participate in many more sports.  He decided to try out track as well.  He was very good and came in second in many of the runs, like the mile, 400, 800 .  He did well in the hurdle jumps....... Image

Running....
in fact, his coach asked the question why he wasn't doing cross country running in the fall.  He said because of football, and she asked again, so why aren't you doing cross country?

He and his group of boys did very well in passing the baton as well.
He did the 4 x 2 and the 4 x 4

I loved watching my boy participate in track.  It was mostly during the day while kids were at school and Sam was at work, so I would go and watch by myself.
One day I had to work at the office and the track meet was in Laurel so I told Jackson to text or call about 5 or 10 min. before he would participate in an event.  I would get there just in time.  I loved it.
He doesn't know if he'll do track next year, he really wants to focus on Lacrosse. I guess we will see.
Till next year.....
