Fall Festivities

This year was fun having my own little one to drag around to all of the fall festivities! Irelyn loves hanging out with her cousins, and the Country Farm Fest was no exception!

Image
Irelyn spent most the time asleep but did wake up in time to take some pictures!

Look closely to see how Irelyn felt about taking these pics :)
For Halloween our sweet little Irelyn was an adorable Mermaid, with her little side kick, Toby the Lobster. She wasn't quite sure what to think of him!!

It certainly is a lot funner to dress up your own little one for Halloween! I had such a fun time making her costume! She, on the other hand, did not really love wearing it!
She had to dress up two days in  row because she has this super cute witch headband!

Our fall was such a blast, it made me so excited for Irelyn's first Christmas!!

Photo Shoot

Irelyn and I had a little photo shoot today just for fun!! I'm no professional, but I think they turned out pretty great!

I just can't believe how beautiful she is! We finally figured out who she looks like...she is clone of her daddy! We pulled out his baby picture yesterday. Put a bow on his head and it is Irelyn! I'm not sure she got anything from me!

We went to her 1 week check up today. She has gained .5 oz, which made me happy because I have been awfully worried that she wasn't eating enough. She is in the 81% for her height and 12% for weight, so needless to say she is tall and skinny!

This past week has been amazing! We are having so much fun, and love her more each day! I have to throw in this picture of Grandpa Steve with Irelyn because it shows you how Toby is reacting to his new sister.
Image

He is very curious, and is constantly checking her out. We are pretty sure he likes her though because the other day I had given him his carrot (yes, we give him carrots for treats, he LOVES them!) He didn't eat it all day and then when I put Irelyn down for tummy time he went and got his carrot and brought it to her and put it on her blanket! He is so protective of his carrots, so I knew right then that he liked her. Then later, he still hadn't ate it and Billy was holding Irelyn on the couch. Toby came up to his shoulder on the back of the couch and dropped the carrot onto her blanket again! I'm so glad he is good with her, and hasn't resorted to hiding out. I'm sure once she can crawl and bug him it might be a different story, but for now it is all good!

So an update I guess.

Wow, I lead an incredibly boring, non-blog worthy life lately! I think it is the winter blues, or maybe just the fact that lately I feel like all I ever do is go to work, come home, and do it all over again! Hopefully once the weather warms up there will be more time for fun!

I do however get the chance every now and then to hang out with these cute kids! We went to feed the ducks last weekend, and it was freezing! When we first got to the pond this little man was so excited, pointing and saying "Ducks, ducks, ducks". So I ran back to the car to get my video camera, and by the time I got back he wouldn't say it for the life of him! He acted almost timid, but then decided the ducks were okay and wanted to chase them! I loved this pic because although his looks says, "why on earth did you bring me here" he really did have fun
Image
These girls had a bunch of fun too...they each fed the ducks an entire bag of bread!
ImageWhen the weather decided to get warm for a week or two, I made it a goal to take Toby for a walk at least 3-4 times a week. (Sadly this past week I have failed because of the rain, snow & cold) But Toby loves these walks. I don't really get much of a workout with them because he has to stop and smell EVERYTHING, but the walks are to benefit him, so I'm good with that!

This is how the walks start:

ImageThis is the awesome path we take: (I love going thru the orchards because I don't have to worry about Toby doing his business on other people's lawns! )
ImageThis is how our walks usually end up:
ImageToby runs his guts out and then will just stop. He won't move, won't walk, nothing. That is my cue from him that he is ready to be carried the rest of the way! He is such a spoiled dog! Haha, but I've been enjoying these walks because they just give me time to relax and rock out to some good tunes on my ipod!
Another bit of news, I'm not sure if I can share yet because my dad is still showing it off to people, but I'm going to anyways! He has been talking about getting a new truck for years. We all gave him a hard time when he would say he was going to get one because he was all talk for so long. So when he told us that he bought a truck online, without even seeing it before, we were all a little skeptical, but low and behold... he finally did it! It was so worth the wait for this awesome truck though, so its good he waited it out!
Jarrett insisted on going to pick it up with my mom and dad, and they needed a ride up there so I volunteered! So here it is... 2010 Ford F150 Raptor:

Image
ImageIt is basically the coolest truck I have ever seen. It has a built in GPS system with Sync which allows you to do so many cool things I could have never imagined! My dad is just like a kid in a candy store! Everyday I go over to their house he shows me another cool feature it has!
Lastly, in the anticipation of spring and good weather, we decided to start early and plant seeds in the house for our garden! I am so excited for summer so I can finally start eating some good fruits and vegetables! There is nothing like a straight from the vine tomato! I just hope the weather warms up quick because our plants are getting huge.
Image
This year i decided to plant pots with lettuce and keep them on my back porch rather than in the garden, so that I can make plenty of salads this summer. My spinach is already getting so big, I think we are going to be able to eat it before too long!
Image
So there you go...an update for those who were asking :) I know it is nothing too exciting or cool, but oh well!

What childless people do for fun on Halloween!

So, I know I treat my dog like a child, and its probably a little crazy on my part, but I saw this at Petsmart and couldn't resist! This is Toby's Halloween costume 2008

ImageThe Mailman!
ImageIsn't he cute?ImageAs you can tell, he didn't love it. Here he is giving me the stink eye.

Although he hates it, I actually love having him in it for Halloween, it makes him a bit more mellow. Without it he was barking at all the little kids, even scaring a few. After I put it on he would only bark once or twice then stand by my side, rather than try to run out the door after the kids!

Since I wasn't blogging this time last year I thought I would share his costume from last year, since it was so dang cute!

Too Funny...

So while I was being lazy today, watching TV and blogging, Toby was chillin' on the bed with me, and since I don't have any kids that do cute things, you guys get to see the cute things my dog does :) During one of the commercials a cat walked onto the TV screen, and oh my goodness I laughed so hard I was crying at Toby's reaction...

He's always had an issue with cats. I've had to chase him across the street many times after he's taken off after a cat, but I've never had him react this way to a cat on TV. I kept the TV paused at that spot for awhile just to see his reaction and it was just so irritating to him! He just sat there and growled at it until I unpaused it.

Congrats Grad & a play date!

Today my niece Saige graduated from her first year of preschool at
the Wilde About Learning Preschool!ImageImageSaige & Mrs. Jenni

(My camera is being fussy so the pics are all blurry, sorry!)

This last weekend Sadie came and stayed at our house for a couple days. I think Toby loved having a friend for a couple days. I could never get a good picture of them because they were constantly running around playing! (You'll notice that they look like ghosts in the picture because they wouldn't stop moving.)Image
Well, we are off to Lake Powell for a couple days...WAHOO! So I'll be back to checking out everyones blogs on Wednesday! Have a great Memorial Day weekend!

Spring Has Sprung...FINALLY!

So after a dreadful winter (that I was sure would never end) I think that Spring is trying to break through! Today I drove home from work with the windows rolled down and the sunroof open! It was beautiful! Then when I got home I noticed that our flowering plum trees had their first blooms!ImageBecause it was such a great day, we decided to work out in the yard for a bit this evening. My hubby put together our new sprinkling system in our garden...sometimes it blows my mind at how clever he can be with things! (Yeah he's being a punk and covering his face, he hates pics)Image

Toby was so funny. We let him out in the front yard (which we rarely do because he likes to run to the neighbors) and instead of basking in his freedom, he wanted to sit on my lap the whole time...he is the definition of a lap dog! When I started helping out in the yard, and he couldn't sit on my lap he went back in the house and acted mad...this was a shot I got at him glaring out at us.Image
So anyways I just wanted to wish everyone a HAPPY SPRING! It really is coming...there is a light at the end of the snowy, cold tunnel!

Wisdom teeth, sweet girls, and taking a drive!

I finally gave in to my dentist and went and got my wisdom teeth out on Friday. I was dreading it horribly, but it really hasn't been that bad. They put me out with an IV and I didn't feel a thing! Billy said it only took them about 25-30 minutes. So far I haven't had much pain, just some stiffness, and luckily I haven't swelled up to chipmunk cheeks yet..but they say the 3rd day is the worst for swelling!

Anyways, I just wanted to share some fun pics I took this weekend.

ImageFirst off, I spent most of Saturday hanging out with my two neices, Saige and Cierra. They are so freaking cute! Saige's birthday is next week and when I asked her what she wanted me to get her, she responded with "a pin the tail on the scooter and just some games"...whatever that means! Its was better than her previous answer of "just a little bit of everything". She is one of the smartest almost 4 year olds I know, yesterday she was showing me and my mom how to spell her name in sign language!
Image
Last night Billy and I went to get a shake and some fries (since I am still on a soft diet). We took Toby along, and he lovesImage to stick his head out the window as we drive. While we were waiting in line at the Santaqueen I opened the sunroof, and we let Toby chill out of it. I just thought it was so freaking hilarious, he LOVED it! He got hisImage spring hair cut on Friday, and I always love it when he gets a hair cut because you can see his cute face! (I don't know why he looks so ticked off in the pic!) Don't worry, one day we might have kids so you don't have to always hear about our dog :) HAHA!
